Why the Baby Sense Winter Sleepy Sac?

The Baby Sense Winter Sleeping Bag is the ultimate baby sleeping bag. It is designed to keep babies at the perfect temperature on wintery nights, preventing the risk of overheating or becoming too cold. The design also ensures that your little one is covered throughout the night as many babies tend to kick off their blankets and swaddles as they get a little older which causes them to cool down in the early hours of the morning, leading to night wakings.

  • Breathable: 100% cotton helps reduce the risk of overheating
  • Safe: Eliminates loose blankets in the crib and is British Standard approved
  • Practical: Zips open in the front for easy night-time changes.
  • Comfy: Lined with soft flannel for extra warmth

Keep your baby warm and travel with ease with the Baby Sense Winter Sleepy Sac.

The Baby Sense Winter Sleepy Sac has been designed to eliminate those early morning wakings due to cold. Many babies kick off their blankets and swaddles as they get a little older. This causes them to cool down in the early hours of the morning, leading to early wakings.

The Baby Sense Winter Sleepy Sac is made up of 3 layers of 100% cotton to ensure that baby remains warm in the early hours of these wintery nights. Loose blankets pose the risk of suffocation if they move over the baby’s face, which is why a sleeping bag is recommended. Also, unlike polyester filled sleeping bags, the breathability of 100% cotton ensures that baby won’t overheat.

Benefits of the Baby Sense Winter Sleepy Sac

Babies who are warm at night sleep longer and better. Alleviate early morning wakings by ensuring your baby is warm on cool nights.

The risk of overheating your baby (which has been associated with SIDS) means that you should not use duvets or any products with polyester for warmth. The Baby Sense Winter Sleepy Sac is made from pure brushed cotton to ensure that while your baby is warm there is no risk of overheating.

Frequently babies fall asleep in the car seat, particularly at night when traveling to or from home. Your baby can be strapped into the car seat whilst in the Slumber Sac and you do not have to unwrap you baby to remove them from the car seat.

How to use?

winter sleepy sac_sleeping bags_how to use

  • Lie your baby on the open sleeping bag, slipping her arms into the arm openings.
  • Pull the open flap of the sleeping bag over your baby.
  • Close the top layer of the sleeping bag and gently close the zip. Ensure that your zip chin guard is in place.

Temperature Sense for your Baby?

  • The optimal temperature for your baby’s room is about 21˚C / 70˚F.
  • Dress your baby in natural fibers, such as 100% cotton clothes, as they regulate temperature and breathe better than synthetic fabrics.
  • To tell if your baby is hot or cold when sleeping at night, look at his position. If he is splayed out with his arms and legs well away from his body, it probably means he is too hot, so remove a layer of blankets.

What to Wear?

The Baby Sense Sleeping Bag is a wearable blanket that will keep your baby at a comfortable temperature all night long. The table below shows our guidance on the correct clothing to be used in different room temperatures.

The Baby Sense Sleeping Bags are designed to be used instead of blankets and top sheets and you need to regularly check your baby to make sure he or she is not too hot or cold, as all babies are different.

Why don't Sleeping Bags have Sleeves?

The sleeveless design, aids heat loss and assists with air circulation. The new British Standard has been introduced to provide a quality and safety standard for Baby Sleeping Bags. The standard stipulates that Baby Sleeping Bags should be “without sleeves or hoods”. In cooler weather, we recommend long-sleeve bodysuits. See what to wear for more info.

Well-fitted sleeping bags, when used correctly, are potentially one of the safest forms of bedding for your baby. Failure to follow each of the following warnings and instructions can result in serious injury or death.

  • Do not use sleeping bag if infant’s head can pass through the neck hole when zip is closed. This infant sleeping bag is for use in a crib without additional bedding, quilt or blanket.
  • Always place infant on their back to sleep and not on soft surfaces such as a couch, air mattress, etc.
  • Always remove from crib when not in use.
  • Take care and periodically check that infant is not overheated. Do not over bundle.
  • A number of external factors determine the TOG rating of the sleeping bag; including the amount of clothes your infant is wearing, the temperature of the bedroom and even your infant’s health.
  • As with adults, these factors may vary, so use our advice as a guide only.

Seek advice from a health care professional if uncertain. Read instructions for additional warnings and recommended guidelines. Keep packaging for future reference.
